Because everyone deserves a little love in their lives
I believe it was Rixon who said: “All I need is a little love in my life.” I totally agree. We all could do with a little love in our lives. That’s why I write romance novels. Because, no matter who you are or where you come from, nothing feels as good as sharing someone’s experience as they fall in love. Does it matter that it’s not real? That it’s all the product of my imagination? Of course not, and here’s why:
Fiction is about expressing life experiences for the enjoyment of everyone.
It doesn’t matter if that experience is cloaked in imaginary trappings or if it’s based on true events. Ultimately, the purpose of the words is to give the reader the opportunity to experience something unique and different from their normal, everyday lives. Do I want to know what it feels like to be shot? No, of course not, but I do enjoy reading about the experience.
The same goes with romance stories. I may be in a committed relationship, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy the excitement and tension of falling in love. By burying myself in fiction I can experience that which I cannot, or choose not to experience in real life.
So read on, romance lovers. Join me as I unlock the romance.
Want to know a bit more about me? Here’s a brief bio.
I am Nicola Sinclair, author of Contemporary Australian Romance. Set in both rural and urban environments, my books showcase the best of Australia and reflect my love of travelling this vast country.
I have always been a daydreamer, and even though it took some time for me to work up the courage to put my fingers to the keyboard and actually commit my stories to the page, I rarely went a day without dreaming about my characters. Whenever I wasn’t working (and sometimes when I was!) I would get lost in my thoughts, dreaming up new characters and plotting the twists and turns of their lives.
Romance and true love, two topics very dear to my heart. It’s why I write romance. I just love making sure everyone gets their happily ever afters.
My other passion is reading. Which is quite annoying really because they’re not really two passions you can pursue at the same time and sometimes I really do just want to do both. What do I read? Well, I’m not restricted to any one genre, or even just to fiction. Instead, my tastes range from fantasy to crime to romance, and drifts from poetry to biographies to non-fiction texts.
On a personal level, I am a wife, mother of four children, and I live with my family in a small rural town on the outskirts of Adelaide, South Australia.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me.
