I don’t like New Year’s Resolutions. I really don’t. It’s so easy to say “This year I’m going to read more” or “This year I’m going lose weight.” The problem is, without a plan, they’re just words. Unless you have a strategy put in place to actually achieve, or even just attempt the resolution, you’re just setting yourself up for failure.
My preference? I like annual goals. Why? Because a goal is specific and achievable. It’s something you work towards, taking each step as it comes. To achieve a goal you need to plan and strategise, to make a decision and then stick to it. Also at the end, you have a definitive reward, you’ve completed something you set out to do.
So, with that in mind, I thought I’d share my professional goals for 2017:
1 – launch my new website The Writing Angel (launching Jan 31)
2 – write 3 new novels
3- publish 3 novels
4 – spend more time building and expanding my author website (this site!)
5 – become more active on social media to promote my websites and build my brand
So there you have it, my goals for 2017. I’ll let you know nearer the end of the year how I went.
What are your goals for 2017?
